The florin is the official currency of Aruba, indicated by AWG.

Accepted currencies
You can pay everywhere on the island with both US$ and arubian florin's.
The Antillean florin is not accepted.
This is especially important for the people from the Netherlands and other european country's because some travel-agencies will tell you that you can pay on Aruba with Antillean florin's. This is NOT the case.
ATM, credit cards and cash
There are several ATM machines accross the island. When you're in the hotel area you can use the ATM machines in the casino's (you may have to pay for this service if you're not playing). When using an ATM machine you can choose between withdrawing either US$ or AWG. Also most credit cards are accepted, but when purchasing something from a small enterprise like the independent people on the beach that do water sports you will have to pay in cash.
