| The plants that are native to Aruba are very well adapted to the extreme circumstances that are prevalent here. Some species have, for example, small or leather-like leaves to resist loss of water through evaporation. Other species drop their leaves in the dry season to limit the loss of fluids. But not only the plants are well adapted to the climate, the animals are well adapted also. Most birds and other animals are active especially early in the morning and in the late afternoon when it is not too warm. This is also the best time to see them.
